How big does hail have to be to damage car paint?
High wind speeds and hail size are the two determining factors for painting damage during a hail storm. In fact, one side of the vehicle can look literally untouched while the other completely loaded with nasty dents & dings. This is due to the wind direction and speed.
Unfortunately, hail of any size can damage your vehicle. That said, if the hailstone is an inch across in diameter and the wind speeds are high, you can expect it to cause some paint damage.
The paint damage might appear as chipping or scratching in & around the dent.
Can I still get paintless dent repair if my car has paint damage?
Yes. We use a repair method that combines paintless dent repair and conventional dent repair. After removing the dent, we prepare the surface and then complete the repair with paint. This technique is called ‘Push to Paint.’
Does Superior Dent Solutions repair collision damage?
We primarily reserve our auto body and paint service for vehicles damaged in a hail storm. In fact, this keeps us very busy, but outside of hail season in Austin, we will extend our service offerings to customers whose vehicles have minor collision damage, door dings, large dent repairand more.
